Worst ceviche I’ve ever tried . Ceviche with celery ? Really? It was nothing but ground fish and lemon. The fried fish was average, but the presentation was horrible. I’ve been to almost every peruvian restaurant in Miami , and so far this is the worst one.
Very tasty food for a fair price. Customer service was excellent and waiters were very attentive. Meal sizes were also very large. Menu also had lots of great options certain to please most everyone.
Very affordable Peruvian place servicing ceviche and a lot of authentic dishes. Go with a big group so you can try a lot of things. Favorite dish is the steak with rice and fries, made medium. Doesn’t look that great but has a great flavor. Good value for the price.
I can give it a 100 star ! Trust me.My First Peruvian Cuisine it was . I so loved the food .. Don even think, go here if you ever go to Miami.
Pros: Alexandria was a fantastic server and it made my heart happy to give her the tip she deserved. She is the ONLY REASON I didnt give the place 1 star.Cons: I was met at the door by a HORRIBLY RUDE woman who started yelling at us in Spanish the moment we arrived. When we told her we didnt understand Spanish, she repeated everything in English, still yelling. She told us we had to sit outside and keep our masks on and had to eat outside, even though the sign said fine in was available. She was nasty the entire time we we were there, even coming out to stare at us while we ate.
Absolutely loved this place great service and food was excellent!👍
This restaurant has amazing food! Absolutely loved the ceviche (we got the mixto version with fresh bass and calamari, the citrus sauce was to die for), and the seafood fried rice reminded me of one I grew up eating with grandparents growing up, it was so good it brought a happy tear to my eye Loved the tree leches cake too, not pictured here though. Must visit if in the area!!
I been going to chalan for the past 5 years and is one of my favorite places to eat or order. Their food is always so tasty and well presented, just love it. They also have a great service. If you visit Miami you must go to chalan anything in the menu is delicious.
The food and service is outstanding!!
Delicious Food. Great Wine Selection. Reasonable Price. Large Plates.
What a surprise! Very unassuming place but great food and lots of it. I had the seafood salgado with pasta. It was huge. Great homemade sangria. Not expensive for what you get.
Delicious! And the waitresses were nice and very clean!
Of course it was great. What else would you expect from Miami's best ceviche spot.
I had a great experience. Delicious food! Very accommodating to my little children - they even made them steamed chocolate milk that my girls loooved! This place had very generous portions and their desserts are awesome! Try the egg whites soufflé! The atmosphere is unpretentious and sincere. A must in Miami Beach!
Pro:Came here on recommendation of friend. Food was delicious and the decor seems nice. Price was okay because they do serve a big amount for what you paying. Also what you eating it's quality seafoodCons: The service was horrendous. Took about 10 minutes to ask us what we wanted. Keep in mind that it was only one other person in the restaurant. Also another customer look like he goes there alot kept having loud conversation with the waitress or manager. That was annoying to us because we couldn't hear our self speak. ( Restaurant not that big). There A/C was lacking, look like it was on and it was only the fan working. It was 98F outside. It was uncomfortable. Conclusion:If they can fix these couple issued it's an amazing restaurant with amazing food at a great price for the location it's at.
My mother is a super picky eater especially when it comes to seafood and she loved the fried whole snapper! She wanted to eat there everyday during our trip. Prices are really good and you get great portion sizes. I ordered one plate of pasta for two people and we still had leftovers.
I always talk about this place and it's been years since I've enjoyed it.
Ordered cevice and chuppa de camarones. Both were great and the sangria was the best we have had in a while. Staff was very friendly!
Food here is really good. Grilled seafood platter is a must try if you like stuff from the ocean. Spaghetti with steak was also really tasty. Double tipping: this is a general Miami Beach problem. This place (like most other restaurants in the area) does not make it very clear.
Ceviche was perfect. Jakes Mixta was cooked just right and tasty
Came in today for grilled fish sandwich. Amazing food. Amazing and very helpful staff. 5/5
First time eating Peruvian food and I’ll definitely come back! Had a blast there at Chalan on the beach! Prices are reasonable, staff is very friendly and the food was so delicious!
Great variety of seafood and beef dishes with the Peruvian flare. Very affordable and an excellent value for the quality of the selections.
First time in my life I've tried the Peruvian food, and it was great!👏🏻
Food was delicious. But it's hard not to compare to Sabor a Perú's prices. Bit pricey.
Excellent fresh sea food, you can basically pick anything from the menu and it will be superb!
Lomo Saltado was perfect! The beef was so tasty and I liked the texture. Ceviche was also good.
It saddens me to have an employee mistreat a potential paying customer. Goggle Web states dine in , takeout And no contact delivery. So I walked all of Lincoln Road to Washington Ave to this use to be cool restaurant and some woman/employee with no name tag or introduction says you can’t come in you can sit outside or order to take. First of all it was 92 DEGREES today in Miami Beach and they did not have NO FANS for the customers. Now, I’ve been to Peru and it is a 3rd world country where they can themselves can tolerate heat and cold weather BUT here in the states is not like that. My point being is that these people WHO are supposed to deal with the PUBLIC should go through a strict TRAINING on how to treat paying customers. The woman was extremely rude when I told her that her website stated Dine in was available. MY WIFE AND I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. THIS VIRUS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITHBTHE WAY YOU TREAT PAYING CUSTOMERS.
The best healthy and tasty food we could find around Miami Beach. This is real food so much even better that the food sells on the Hotels. Really excellent, friendly and welcoming service, portions and price are really good. If you want to eat healthy with a good home-taste this is the place.Definitely this is a MUST. Don’t be impressed by fancy restaurants in Miami, this place is so far better in food.
The food is absolutely delicious. You can close your eyes and choose whatever from the menu and be sure it will be delicious. Soup was huge and packed with seafood and grilled seafood plate is definitely not for one person. Plus super friendly service.
Ceviche was very fresh and tasty...but the lomo saltado was sub par. It had very little meat, the French fries were uncooked, and it was lacking sauce..
The pulpo (octopus) ceviche is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life!!!
Outstanding ceviche and lomo!
Delicious and authentic, the waiters are gracious and prompt. Definitely recommend for Peruvian Chinese
Mmmmm mouth is watering again thinking of the food we experienced here. Great service to go along with the fresh eats
Great food. Thank you for providing great service in difficult times
One of the best spanish restaurant i have been. The food, the staff, the location is unreal. I hope they keep up the good work and keep faithful to their motto "chalan: where making food is still considered art" 10/10
We have been going to this restaurant every time we are in Miami for the past 6 years! It never did! The service is great, the food is great, and the seafood is always super fresh. Make sure you try their tartar sauce because it is outstanding!
Delicious food! Big portions, Great service, the food came within minutes. Looked even better than in the pictures. I highly recommend!
Awesome culinary experience at an amazing price. By far the best food I've had on my trip! The table shared seafood saltado (fried fish, grilled calamari, 🍤, onions, in a soy garlic sauce), fried snapper (with rice and unforgettable tarter sauce), fried shrimp and calamari combo, and plantains. Nothing was a let down. Even the random French fries (potatoes) were a pleasant surprise mixed in my saltado. They could easily be more expensive; however, the quality exceeds expectations despite reasonability. Might go again before we leave!
I have to put up a good review. It’s great food even for a Chinese! I tried seafood with steam rice.(forget the name) Safely to say, most of the food are delicious, so randomly pick one from the picture and you just enjoy it!
I do not want to depreciate the review with my inability for poetic expression. Just go. Just go and eat the food and understand how life is wonderful.
SUUUPER good food and friendly staff. I'm taking a star away because of the decor.
This is an Amazing restaurant. With the best service and their food have a good quality/price proportion. I would say the best one in South beach
You don’t get better Peruvian cuisine anywhere else on the beach besides here. This restaurant has been open since my parents moved to Miami from Peru in the 80’s. Every dish makes me feel like if my mother or grandma cooked it. If you want the most authentic Peruvian food without going to Lima, Chalan on the beach is the place to go. Daily specials are a bargain for less than 10$ everything on the menu is good, I can’t pick a preference just make sure you come to eat here.
I have been eating their food for many years ..its authenticity is impeccable ..I bring my whole family here alot ...any special occasions we come to this restaurant and enjoy peruvian delicacies you will never forget located on Miami beach
Delicious and affordable... One of South Beach's best!
My first time try Peru food. Very delicious. I don’t know what i order but it’s so so good.
Highly recommend especially if you don't want anything touristy
Great food and friendly service! Reasonable prices compared to other nearby places. Would highly recommend this place for getting a taste of Peruvian tradition while at South Beach.
